Who It's For
The creators HeyMotion was built for — faceless and educational YouTubers, solo marketers and small agencies, and course creators and coaches — and the exact problems it solves for each.
#Overview
HeyMotion is built for people who publish a lot of video and don't have a motion designer on call. If you're producing content regularly and want it to look consistently branded without spending hours in After Effects, you're in the right place. Below are the three groups it fits best, the pain each one feels, and how the product addresses it. We've kept this honest — where a limit exists, we name it.
#Faceless and educational YouTubers, and Shorts creators
The pain. Faceless channels live and die by their graphics. With no presenter on screen, the on-screen text, stats, and animated callouts are the show. Building those by hand for every video is slow, and keeping them consistent across dozens of uploads is harder still. Shorts and Reels make it worse: you need vertical versions, fast.
How HeyMotion helps. The Core, Data, and Tech categories cover the workhorses of educational content — big counters, stat trios, charts, terminal typing, code diffs, timelines. Set your brand once and every clip matches your channel automatically. Switch the canvas to 9:16 and you're producing for Shorts, Reels, and TikTok from the same templates. Overlays and Subscribe prompts are green-screen (#00FF00), so you can chroma-key them straight over your footage.
Non-16:9 sizes currently render the 1920×1080 composition scaled and centered, and some templates add a "FIT width" so portrait content sizes up. True per-dimension responsive layouts are a future item, so preview your vertical clips before committing.
#Solo marketers and small agencies
The pain. A one-person marketing team — or a small agency juggling several clients — needs a steady stream of on-brand social graphics across every aspect ratio, and rarely has the budget or time for bespoke motion design. Every off-the-shelf template pack drags in someone else's colors and fonts that then have to be fixed one by one.
How HeyMotion helps. The whole point of the brand engine is that you set colors, fonts, logo, and background once and the entire library inherits them. Nothing arrives off-brand. The five canvas sizes (16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:5, 4:3) cover feed posts, stories, and YouTube from a single tool. Export is 100% in-browser (WebCodecs + a virtual-time clock). Nothing is uploaded to a server to export. so client material never passes through a third-party server. For repeatable deliverables, save a preset and reload it in one click.
Multiple brand kits — one login holding a separate brand per client — is a planned feature and not in the app yet. Today the account holds a single brand kit. Agencies managing several brands can switch a kit's tokens as needed, or keep saved presets per client.
#Course creators and coaches
The pain. Course and coaching content is dense with concepts, frameworks, and steps that are hard to hold in the viewer's head as pure talking-head video. You want to visualize a definition, a process, a comparison, or a "here's the myth, here's the fact" beat — but you're a teacher, not an animator.
How HeyMotion helps. The Story and Lists categories are built for exactly this: definition cards, myth-vs-fact, before/after, checklists, numbered lists, timelines, pyramids, and pros-and-cons. Type your teaching point, and it animates cleanly and on-brand. Lower-thirds and name tags (in Overlays) introduce you or a guest. Because clip length is adjustable from 1 to 20 seconds, you can time a graphic to sit under a specific line of narration.
#Who it's not (yet) for
To be straight with you: HeyMotion makes short branded inserts, not full videos. There's no long-form timeline, no audio, and no scene sequencing — you assemble the final edit in your normal editor and drop these clips in. If you need a full nonlinear editor, this isn't a replacement for it. If you need frequent, consistent, on-brand motion graphics feeding that editor, it's built for you.
