Select Your Brand Fonts
Pick a display, body, and label font once — Google Fonts, commercial-safe — and every template uses your typography.
Typography is part of your brand kit. HeyMotion gives you 3 font slots — a display font for headlines, a UI font for body text, and a mono font for labels and code — and every template uses them. Set them once and your whole library reads in your typeface.
#Overview
Each slot maps to a different role across templates:
- Display — big, expressive type: headlines, chapter titles, hero numbers. Default: Fraunces.
- UI (body) — clean, readable running text: labels, captions, list items, body copy. Default: Inter.
- Label / mono — monospace type: terminal blocks, code, keyboard shortcuts, technical labels. Default: JetBrains Mono.
#When to Use It
Set your fonts when you first build your brand kit, so every graphic reads consistently. Revisit them if you rebrand or want a different personality — a punchier display face, a softer body font.

- Open the Brand panel with the 🎨 Brand toggle in the edit panel.
- Find the three font menus: display, UI, and mono.
- Pick a font in each menu from the lists below.
- Watch the preview restyle after a short pause.
#The Pickable Fonts
All fonts are Google Fonts, loaded live. Pick from these lists.
Display fonts (15): Fraunces, Playfair Display, DM Serif Display, Lora, Archivo Black, Poppins, Oswald, Bebas Neue, Space Grotesk, Libre Baskerville, Abril Fatface, Anton, Sora, Unbounded, Crimson Pro.
UI / body fonts (11): Inter, DM Sans, Poppins, Work Sans, Nunito Sans, Rubik, Manrope, Karla, Outfit, Sora, Figtree.
Label / mono fonts (7): JetBrains Mono, Space Mono, IBM Plex Mono, Courier Prime, Fira Code, Roboto Mono, Overpass Mono.

#Google Fonts, Commercial-Safe
Every font in these lists is a Google Font served under the SIL Open Font License (OFL), which is safe to embed in commercial work. That means the fonts baked into your exported MP4s are cleared for commercial use — no separate licensing step.
#Fallback Behavior
Fonts load from Google Fonts over the network. If a font hasn't finished loading, or the network is unavailable, text falls back to a default system typeface until the brand font arrives. Give the studio a moment on first load so your chosen fonts render before you export.
Pair a strong display face with a clean body font for contrast — for example the default Fraunces headlines over Inter body text. A busy display font over a busy body font tends to fight itself.
#Best Practices
Choose fonts that contrast in weight and personality between the display and body slots, so headlines stand apart from copy. Keep the mono slot genuinely monospace so terminal and code templates line up correctly.
#Common Mistakes
The usual slip is exporting before the fonts finish loading, which can bake in the fallback. Wait until the preview shows your chosen typeface, then export.
