Apply Your Brand to a Template
You never manually apply your brand — it flows into every template live, and switching templates keeps it intact.
Here's the good news: there is no "apply" step. Your brand is live. Every template already reads from your brand tokens, so the moment you pick a template it's on-brand — and every change you make to the brand flows into it instantly.
#Overview
HeyMotion doesn't attach a brand to each template one at a time. The brand kit — your colors, fonts, background, logo, and handle — is global. Every one of the 104 templates re-skins from those tokens. That means:
- Loading a template shows it already in your brand.
- Editing a brand token restyles the current template (and all others) live.
- Switching to a different template carries your brand with it — nothing to reapply.
#When to Use It
This is how the studio always works, so there's nothing to turn on. Understand this model when you're building a set of graphics: change the brand once, and every clip you make in that session shares it.
#Before You Begin
Set up your brand first if you haven't — see Set Up Your Brand Kit. No account is required, though signing in syncs your brand to the cloud.
#Step-by-Step Instructions
#1. Pick any template
From the template library on the left, click a template. It loads into the center stage already wearing your brand colors and fonts.
#2. Change a brand token and watch it flow
Open the 🎨 Brand panel and change a color or font. After a short pause the preview re-skins. You didn't "apply" anything — the template read the new token automatically.
#3. Switch templates
Click a different template. Your brand comes along. Every template you touch stays consistent because they all draw from the same brand kit.
#4. Choose a background style
In the Brand panel, pick one of the 6 canvas backgrounds. The background applies to templates that don't already set their own background.

A template that sets its own background keeps it. The brand background style fills in only where a template doesn't define one.
#Previewing Brand Changes
The center stage loops continuously, so brand changes appear there as soon as they take effect (after a short debounce). Press ↺ Replay to watch the animation again from the start with your new look. What you see in the preview is what you'll get in the export.
#Best Practices
Lock in your brand before making a batch, then move template to template freely — each one is already consistent. Try a couple of background styles against your palette to see which reads best.
#Common Mistakes
The most common misunderstanding is looking for an "apply brand" button per template. There isn't one, because it's automatic.
