#Frequently Asked Questions

Short answers to the questions we hear most. Each one links to the full article if you want detail.

#What is HeyMotion?

It's a browser-based tool for making branded, animated video graphics — counters, charts, callouts, lower-thirds, transitions — that you export as MP4 and drop into your editor. See What Is HeyMotion?.

#Do I need design or animation experience?

No. You pick a template, type your own words and numbers into a few fields, and the motion is built in. See Create Your First Graphic.

#Does it work in a browser?

Yes — HeyMotion runs entirely in your web browser at https://heymotion.io/app. There's nothing to download. See What Is HeyMotion?.

#Are my files uploaded?

No. All rendering and export happen in your browser, and images you add are embedded locally — nothing is uploaded to make a video. See Privacy and File Processing.

#What browsers are supported?

In-browser video encoding needs a Chromium-based browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave, or Arc). You can preview in other browsers, but export may not work. See Browser Requirements.

#Can I use exports commercially or for clients?

Yes — the graphics you make are yours to use, including in client work. The bundled fonts come from Google Fonts under open licenses that are safe for commercial embedding. See Privacy and File Processing for how your content is handled.

Yes. You can upload a logo image that fills every logo spot, or use up to three lines of logo text plus a handle. See Upload Your Logo.

#Can I use multiple logos or brands?

Today you have one brand kit at a time. Multiple brand kits are planned for a future paid tier but are not available yet. See Manage Your Subscription for the planned direction.

#Which video editors does it work with?

Any editor that imports MP4 — CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and DaVinci Resolve all work. See Use in CapCut.

#Are exports watermarked?

On the Free plan, exports carry a small watermark. On any paid plan (Founding or Studio) exports have no watermark. See Manage Your Subscription.

#What export formats are supported?

Exports are MP4 (H.264) at 30fps. WebM and GIF export are planned but not yet available. See Export an MP4.

#Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Paid plans can be cancelled anytime from your account page through the Stripe billing portal; you keep paid features until the end of the period you've paid for. See Cancel Your Subscription.

#What happens to my projects after cancelling?

Your brand kit and saved presets are planned to remain on your account, and your exported MP4s are already on your own computer, so cancelling doesn't remove your work. See Cancel Your Subscription.

#Can I request a template or feature?

Yes — email support@heymotion.io with what you'd like to see. See Contact Support.

#Does it work on mobile?

The editor is mobile-responsive, so you can browse and customize on a phone. Exporting an MP4 needs a desktop Chromium browser, though, because in-browser encoding relies on WebCodecs. See Browser Requirements.

#Does it have an API?

Not yet — an API is planned for a future tier. If you want to drive HeyMotion from an AI assistant today, use the MCP server (below).

#Does it support MCP?

Yes. HeyMotion ships an MCP server so an AI assistant like Claude can list templates, render previews, and render clips for you. See HeyMotion MCP Overview.
